  • Cost: $70 including instruction and all equipment (second dive $50)
  • When: 9:00, 11:00, or 1:00 daily
  • For: Beginners at least 10 years old. We recommend the Discover Scuba Diving lesson/tour for people who want to experience a dive before committing to an entire set of lessons.
  • Duration: 2-3 hours (including lesson and dive at a maximum depth of 40 ft).
Description: This lesson/tour is the very first step on the road toward certification. The skills completed during this dive maybe credited toward certification in the PADI Scuba Diver Program and the PADI Open Water Diver Program . It is equivalent to Module One of the confined water session.

If you decide to continue, you may finish either:
  • Here at Coki Beach Dive Club. The price of this dive is credited toward your certification price
  • at home. All you need to do is ask us for your student record, which documents your achievement. When you are back home, you can take it to any PADI Dive Center or Resort to continue your course.
The Curriculum: With the help of a flip chart, we will explain to you a certain amount of theory and we will make sure that you understand the important rules of diving. The lesson will be short and concise, designed to inform you but not to confuse you.

After the theory and before starting the real dive, you will practice in near pool-like conditions along the shore. You will hand feed the fish as you embark on your guided dive through the coral reef. Your air gauge will be carefully monitored, to ensure that you don't get low on air. The dive will last about 40 minutes, depending on your comfort level. You will be surprised by how quickly you will relax!

After completing your dive, you can stay and snorkel at Coki Beach, the best snorkel spot on St. Thomas. If you don't have your own snorkel gear with you, you can use Coki Beach Dive Club gear for free or buy it at our Retail Shop.

Reservations: We take walk ups, but its better to make a reservation. E-mail ahead for reservations or call us at: 340-775-4220 or send us a Fax at: 340-776-4607.

Medical Clearance and Liability: Please read the medical form with medical questions. You must bring a written release from your doctor if you answer YES to any of the questions. Before starting this program, we will ask you to complete the medical questionnaire, a Liability Release, and a Safe Diving Statement.
