Discover Scuba Diving
Ever wondered what it would be like to try scuba diving in pristine Caribbean waters? Then our Discover Scuba Diving experience is the perfect choice for you! There’s nothing quite like taking those first few breaths underwater as you experience life under the sea.
Who is our Discover Scuba Diving Program for?
- Anyone wishing to experience the thrill of being underwater and to check out a live coral reef. A basic comfort of being in the water is helpful as well as being in relatively good health. Minimum age requirement is 10 years old for this tour.
When can we start and how long is the tour?
- We generally have our Discover Scuba Diving lessons at 9am, 11:30am, and 1:30pm on a daily basis. The entire experience lasts about 2hrs. depending on everyone’s comfort level and air consumption in the water. Call or email us for dive times and reservations.
What can we expect?
- To start, your instructor will give you a short and concise lesson on scuba basics and theory, designed to inform but not confuse. After a dry land lesson, you will suit up and enter the water into near pool-like conditions along the shore where you will practice the skills covered in the lesson with your instructor. After gaining confidence by practice, you will simply submerge and begin your dive. Watch your instructor feed the fish as you begin your guided dive along a live coral reef, floating weightlessly. You will be visited by a variety of tropical fish, and just might encounter a turtle or stingray. During your dive, your air gauge will be carefully monitored by your instructor to ensure that you don't get low on air. The dive typically lasts about 40 minutes, with a maximum depth of 40 feet, depending on your comfort level. You will be surprised by how quickly you relax! Your scuba dive will be the experience of a lifetime! If you are planning on getting Open Water Certified you can count this dive toward that goal. Over the last 25 years, we’ve had thousands of our beginner divers have continued on to become PADI Open Water Certified Divers.
How much does it cost?
- The Discover Scuba Diving experience is $79per person. This includes a dry land lesson, shallow water practice of basic scuba skills and a scuba dive to a live coral reef at Coki Beach with your PADI instructor. And if one dive isn’t enough for you and you need more, we offer a 2nd dive off the beach for an additional $50per person, or upgrade to a second dive off our afternoon boat for only $85per person.
