 COST: $70 - Includes a dry land lesson, shallow water practice of basic scuba skills and a scuba dive with your PADI instructor to a live Coral Reef at Coki Beach. Price includes all scuba gear needed along with snorkel gear to use for the day. We don't allow more then 4 divers with an instructor to keep the groups small and safe. Wetsuit rental is only $5, and a 2nd dive is only $50

FOR: Anyone wishing to experince the thrill of being underwater and visiting a live reef. A basic comfort level of water is helpful as well and being in relatively good health. A medical form and release is required. You must be 10 years old and over. Great dive for rusty Ceritified divers also

DURATION: The PADI DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING COURSE is about 2 1/2 hrs from start to finish.The actual scuba dive is about 40 minutes.

DESCRIPTION: Your instructor with the aid of a flip chart will explain to you the most important rules of diving, along with the basic skills needed for your scuba dive. The lesson will be concise and designed to inform but not confuse. After the dry land lesson, you will suit up, enter the water into near pool-like conditions along the shore (conditions may vary with the weather) and practice the skills covered in the lesson with your instructor. After gaining confidence by practice you will simply submerge and begin your dive. Watch your instructor feed the fish as you begin your guided dive along a live coral reef floating weightlessly. You will also be visited by a variety of tropical fish, and just might encounter a turtle or stingray. During your dive your air gauge will be carefully monitored by your instructor to ensure that you don't get low on air. The dive typically lasts about 40 minutes, and to a maximum depth of 40ft, depending on your comfort level. You will be surprised by how quickly you will relax! If you are planning on getting Open Water Certified you can count this dive toward that goal. Your scuba dive will be an experince you will remember the rest of your life. Over the years, thousands of our beginner divers have continued on to become PADI Open Water Certified Divers.

After completing your dive, we invite you to stay and snorkel at Coki Beach, the best snorkel spot on St. Thomas. If you don't have your own snorkel gear with you, you can use Coki Beach Dive Club gear for free or purchase some at our Retail Shop.

MEDICAL CLEARANCE AND LIABILITY: Please read the medical form with medical questions in our website. If you have any questions just write or call us. You must bring a written release from your doctor if you answer YES to any of the questions listed in on our site. Before starting this program, we will ask you to complete the medical questionnaire, a Liability Release, and a Safe Diving Statement. We reserve the right to refuse any one dive or snorkel gear. A parent or guardian must sign for anyone under 18.
